1 week before

- Finish packing all non-essential items
- Disassemble large furniture if needed
- Set aside important documents to carry personally
- Confirm parking access and any building rules at origin and destination
- Charge all devices and keep chargers accessible
Moving day
- Walk through your home before the crew arrives and note any pre-existing conditions
- Keep children and pets out of the work areas for safety
- Be present or assign a point of contact for crew questions
- Do a final walkthrough of every room, closet, and cabinet before leaving
- Check attic, garage, and outdoor storage areas
- Confirm destination address and any access details with the crew
After the move
- Inspect your items as they are unloaded and note any concerns
- Prioritize unpacking bedrooms and kitchen first
- Test all appliances, outlets, and utilities
- Update your address with DMV, voter registration, and financial accounts
- Introduce yourself to neighbors and get comfortable with the new area
